Al-Baidar Center Discusses the Legality and Function of Anti-Corruption Councils

The Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning held a discussion session titled “Establishing Anti-Corruption Councils: Their Legality and Function”, which hosted retired Judge Salim Rodhan Al-Mousawi, with the participation of a group of specialists, researchers, and individuals interested in legal and administrative affairs.

During the session, Al-Mousawi reviewed the legal foundations for establishing anti-corruption councils and their role in strengthening state efforts to combat corruption. He also highlighted their key achievements and the need to continue their work as exceptional instruments for addressing the phenomenon of corruption, which increasingly requires unconventional measures and mechanisms to confront it effectively.

The session also featured discussions and interventions addressing the challenges facing anti-corruption efforts in Iraq. Participants emphasized the importance of effective political will as a fundamental pillar for the success of reform programs and for enhancing integrity and transparency within state institutions.
