Al-Baidar Center Holds a Dialogue Session Entitled: Strategic Planning in Iraq…The Problematic Nature of Formulation and Implementation

The Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning hosted a dialogue session titled “Strategic Planning in Iraq: The Problematic Nature of Formulation and Implementation,” which was attended by a select group of academics and experts specializing in administrative and developmental affairs.
The center hosted Dr. Mahdi Al-Allaq, who delivered a technical presentation addressing the features of strategic plans in Iraq. He reviewed Iraq’s experience in preparing the poverty reduction strategy, highlighting the most prominent strengths and weaknesses that accompanied this experience.
The session witnessed broad engagement from the attendees, who raised numerous questions regarding the challenges faced in implementing strategic plans in the Iraqi context, particularly in light of overlapping authorities and the multiplicity of concerned entities.
Following the discussion, the participants agreed on the importance of adopting a unified model for strategic planning in Iraq, one that contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of public policies and achieving sustainable development.
