Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning Hosts
Discussion on a Cooperation Program Between Think Tanks and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Al-Baidar Center for Studies and Planning hosted a discussion session to review the provisions and draft of a memorandum of cooperation. This initiative aims to enhance partnership and foster collaboration between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs—represented by the Foreign Service Institute and the Political Planning Department—and several think tanks and research centers in Iraq.
The session convened in the presence of Ambassador Alaa Al-Nasiri, Head of the Political Planning Department at the Ministry, and Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Al-Shammari, Dean of the Foreign Service Institute. Also participating were representatives from the Riwaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy, Bahr Al-Uloom Forum for Dialogue, Al-Bayan Center for Planning and Studies, Rudaw Research Center, and Vision (Ru’ya) Foundation for Strategic Studies.
The dialogue focused on the memorandum of cooperation and its clauses, striving to establish collaborative efforts in the fields of research, intellectual activities, and training programs.
Attendees agreed to outline mechanisms for implementing this cooperation, which will include organizing joint seminars, conferences, and panel discussions to monitor shifts in the international political landscape.
This strategic step underscores the dedication of both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and scientific research institutions to integrate their roles and amplify the contribution of think tanks in supporting decision-making bodies in Iraq.
